For muesli: 6 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup sunflower seeds 1/2 cup sesame seeds 1/4 cup desiccated coconut 1 cup wheat germ 2 cups bran 1/3 cup oil 2/3 cup honey 1 cup chopped dried apricots 1 cup chopped dried apples 1/2 cup chopped dried prunes For bars: dry muesli mixture (above) 1 cup milk 1 cup honey 1 egg, beatenTo make muesli, place all the top ingredients (except the dried fruit) into a bowl and mix. Bake in a baking tin in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 45 minutes or until it begins to brown. Stir twice while it is cooking. Cool, then add the apricots, apples and prunes. Store in large screw-top jars.
For bars, take six cups of the muesli mixture and add the egg, milk and honey. Press into a greased Swiss roll pan and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C until golden brown. Remove from the oven and cut into bars. Take them out of the tray when cold. Wrap in cellophane or waxed paper and twist the ends.
